First Letterbox - NOT a disapointment

I took advantage of a break in winter weather here in Montana to
hunt my first "real" letterbox today. It was definitely not a
disappointment. Although the description says short hike I knew
that would not be the case as the state park where the box is
located is closed for the winter so it was a three mile uphill hike
to the start of the clues. But it was a gorgeous sunny day & the
views were outstanding.

The box itself was buried under the snow & also took a bit of
coaxing to separate it from the frozen ground. But once that was
done the box was in great shape & the hand carved stamp was
beautiful. I was happy to make it the first of what I hope will be
many stamps in my log.

I know how you feel. I once had to hike half-way across Rhode Island! Longest ten miles of my life... :)

The Official term is Delawareans. when I began dating the 2nd Mr. Irene in the mid-90's there was a referendum that the folks in DE voted on. Delawareans won. Such a long name for such a cool little state! I love the DE beaches. Sorry Joisey!
